October G +T Recap
The G+T club has been having a lovely time with their weekly meetings!
Our first meeting, led by Anna, focused on practical self care and our ladies learned about food, movement, sleep, and purposeful relaxation to manage stress and make lasting positive changes in their lives.
Anna did an incredible job explaining healthy mindsets surrounding physical and mental health!
Then we were joined by guest speaker Marguerite Burke, a Menopause Coach, to learn about life after menopause. Menopause is something that will impact all women - whether we experience it naturally, or its brought on by medical treatments. Knowing what is happening to our minds and bodies, and how to advocate for the treatment we want to receive is so important!
Marguerite also spoke to the ladies about how to advocate for themselves when speaking to the healthcare services. This, combined with the knowledge of what is happening to our bodies and brains gives us power. This power means we can take back control of our lives and seek the right treatment we deserve, instead of being fobbed off.
Thank you to all of the ladies who came along and learned something new today, a huge thank you to Marguerite for joining us today and sharing her own experiences and journey, and thank you to our funders who made today possible!
Finally, in our last G+T meeting of the month we got busy making some halloween crafts to celebrate the holiday! Our ladies made paper pumpkins, yarn ghosts, and decorated day of the dead masks. It was so much fun and we finished off the day with a halloween themed trivia quiz, congratulations Crafty Witches on your victory!
We are so thrilled with the lively environment and interesting talks our G+T club creates and are excited to see what happens next.
