First Feel Good Friday
Our first of 3 Feel Good Friday groups started today and it was the perfect way to spend World Mental Health Day.
We created a peaceful setting for the group with serene music and diffused a blend of essential oils to help our ladies really relax into the afternoon.
We kicked off our afternoon of self care with Brenda from Perfect Pilates who took the group through an accessible chair pilates session. The session focused on gentle exercises that will improve strength and mobility. Chair Pilates is great for beginners or those returning to exercise after illness or injury. Brenda brings a wonderful energy to the group and provides such attentive care, making sure everyone was safe and comfortable.
Exercise is so important for our body and mind. This gentle exercise class was a wonderful way to try something new, as well as increase our knowledge and confidence in exercising.
Then, Holly took the group through a guided EFT Tapping meditation where we focused on releasing trapped or pent up stress and tension in our bodies and replace it with love, compassion and joy. The women today took 15 minutes to be still, let the stress of the world melt away, and just focus on themselves. EFT incorporates powerful affirmations that work deep within our subconscious to promote inner healing, self-confidence, and self-love.
We organised our Feel Good Friday programme as a way to educate, inspire, and motivate the women in our community to put themselves first and fill up their own cups because these women are integral members of our city, our friendships, and our families.
