Women Celebrated for Completing EVAWG with Courage

Last week marked a truly special evening for FWIN as we gathered at Holywell Trust to celebrate the incredible women who have completed our Eliminating Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) programme so far. It was a moment of pride, reflection, and deep connection.

We were delighted to present certificates to participants from Caw/Nelson Drive Action Group, Tullyally Women’s Group, Creggan Neighbourhood Partnership, Waterside Women's Centre, and Galliagh Women's Group—each of whom brought courage, commitment, and compassion to this journey. These women have not only completed the programme—they’ve become active voices for change within their own communities. We are so proud of their achievement and the ripple effect they will continue to create.

To mark the occasion, we were also honoured to welcome the brilliant Kabosh Theatre Company, who performed their powerful piece, Reunion. The production explores the long-term impact of conflict-related violence against women, and the strength it takes to heal, rebuild, and reclaim agency. It was a poignant and fitting close to the evening—sparking important conversations and bringing to life the very issues our EVAWG programme seeks to address.

The atmosphere in the room was one of solidarity, celebration, and shared purpose. From the certificate ceremony to the final curtain call, it was clear: this work matters, and so do the women at the heart of it.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the participants who continue to inspire us with their dedication and bravery. This is only the beginning—we look forward to building on this momentum as we continue to tackle violence against women and girls across our communities.
